Warner Theatre

Erie, PA
Cast Stone Institute 2010 RESTORATION EXCELLENCE Award Winner

This project is a restoration of the Warner Theatre, which is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The Cast Stone scope includes replacement of the upper bands, decorative panels, and coping, which collapsed to the street when the parapet gave way during a heavy snowstorm.

The role of Cast Stone was to replicate the original architecture and mix design, as the replacement cast stone was adjacent to the remaining original elements.

The replacement Cast Stone is an identical replication of the original architecture, and to improve long-term aesthetics, the worn details of the original elements were enhanced during the molding process, which served to properly highlight the Art-Deco details of this historic building.
